Setting Up Outlook Express 6

Step 1

Open up outlook express, from the menu select the 'Tools' then 'Accounts...'.

First Click on the 'Mail' tab. You will all your old mail account settings displayed on the screen. Click on the 'Add' Button, on the right hand side, and select 'Mail' from the list.

Enter in the name you wish to be displayed when sending of emails. Then click 'Next'.

Enter in the FULL email address that you have been provided with. Then click 'Next'.

Make sure that the incoming server type is set to POP3. Then enter in the mail server details you have been provided with for both incoming and outgoing servers. Please do not use mail.datacom.net.au. Then click 'Next'.

Enter in your full username, you have to include @yourdomain.com.au to identify correctly. Enter the password you have been provided with. Then click 'Next'.

Then click 'Finish'.

Select the new mail server you have just added. First Click on the 'Set As Default' button, then click on the 'Properties' Button. on the right hand side.

Update your company details if they are not already present. Then continue by clicking on the 'Servers' Tab.

To be able to send outgoing mail, Tick the box next to 'My server requires authentication'. Then Click on 'OK'. Then Click 'Close'. Your mail server should now be setup to accept incoming and outgoing mail.
